Update on Upcoming Stories and extras for paid subscribers

Fall/Winter 2025/26

Hi Everyone,

As I mentioned in the last post, we have some new exciting offerings for paid subscribers—and one new addition to the line-up!

For those who missed it:

I’ll be sharing my Zoom interviews with paid subscribers and members of the Conscious Writers Collective, a group I belong to (that every aspiring writer needs to check out!), led by the amazing poet, Maya C. Popa.

The podcasts will still be free and available to everyone, but the class is a bonus for paid subscribers.

Two-Hour Workshops Fall/Winter Schedule:

During the first hour, I'll interview the author for about 25 minutes, and then we'll open up to Q&A for 15 minutes.

During the second hour after the author departs, I'll offer writing prompts based on our reading, as well as time for sharing your work.

October 5th, 11 am-1 pm (EST): Katherine Damm will discuss her BASS (Best American Short Story), "The Happiest Day of Your Life" from The Iowa Review.

October 14th, 12-2 pm (EST): Susan Shepherd will discuss her BASS story, "Baboons" from The Kenyon Review.

October 28th, 10:30-12:30 pm (EST): Maura Stanton talks about her award-winning story, "School for Robots," from The Ghost Story.

November 14th, 1-3 pm: Shastri Akella discusses his BASS story, "The Magic Bangle," from The Fairy Tale Review.

January 14th, 12 pm-2 pm: Toni Ann Johnson talks about "Daughtered Out" from The Coachella Review.

NEW CLASS: February 17th, 3 pm-5 pm: Pemi Aguda talks about “Manifest,” originally published in Granta, and later in her debut story collection, Ghostroots, which was a finalist for the 2024 National Book Awards in Fiction and the PEN/Faulkner Award.
